About Me

Umar Jamshed: I'm a musician, composer, and producer from Pakistan. I started my first band in 2005 — and got pushed to the front as the singer, though I've always seen myself more as a storyteller who builds worlds out of chords and melodies. Over the years I produced for mainstream artists, worked at Coke Studio, had a song featured on MTV, and saw Channel V play my videos across Asia. Then life changed course. I stepped away from music, relocated to the United States, and — on a non-working visa while my wife worked — became a full-time stay-at-home dad. But the music was still breathing. With no studio, no budget, and barely any space, I started again out of necessity and love — recording in a 4x4 storage room, in dens and basements, even quiet library rooms. That journey became my album, Ghar ("Home"): written, performed, and produced entirely by me, at 44, one song at a time.
